Headed North

This weekend I am headed to Mackinac Island for another wedding. I am super excited because I hear this place is absolutely dreamy. They do not allow cars on the island which makes for a very peaceful little town and I can't wait to escape city life and enjoy some time on the water. I plan to take in this special spot and enjoy all of the beauty it has to offer, plus celebrate the marriage of two more friends!
I plan to wake up early, enjoy coffee in an adirondack chair, rent some bicycles, explore, eat yummy food, celebrate, sip champagne, and take lots of photos.

The lakeside always transforms my style into extremely preppy, nautical, boating attire so I plan to pack lots of stripes, daytime dresses, florals, boat shoes, color, a party dress, and a fun bathing suit.

Dave is the best man, so I am tagging along for the majority of the wedding festivities. We are stopping at our friends house on Thursday night for a fun day on the water Friday, before driving the extra hour north to Mackinac. I can't wait!

Have you ever been to Mackinac? Any recommendations? I'd love to hear!

My Best Friend's Wedding

This weekend was completely surreal and I am so depressed that it is over. There were lots of laughs, lots of tears, and lots of time spent with my most favorite people in the entire world. The weekend began with the rehearsal dinner on Friday night, followed by appointments and the wedding on Saturday. We lucked out with absolutely beautiful weather and the whole day was dreamy. Alex {the bride} has been my friend since I was in third grade, and sometimes I don't believe we are at the age where people begin to create families of their own. It was sort of like closing the childhood chapter of my life {that I tend to hold on to} and opening a new, mature one. This is a long post with lots of photos so be prepared...

The rehearsal dinner consisted of delicious food, karaoke, obnoxious amounts of champagne and wine, speeches followed by tears, dancing and lots of laughter. I think all of us were on cloud 9, so excited for Alex and Tad and the wedding day to come.

Enter Saturday: Liz consumed way too much wine and my day began with an appointment at 9am. More appointments followed and we brunched and got ready for the big day. I didn't take photos of this, I was busy enjoying my friends and helping Alex put on her dress. It was the best day, full of more champagne to calm our nerves. The wedding took place at our country club in the suburbs, it was perfect.

The night went from beautiful and cool to sweaty and unattractive real quick but it was a total blast!
Happy wedding A+T, I love you both so much and was so honored to be a part of your special day!

Also, a Happy {belated} Father's Day to my dad:

I am so lucky to have a dad that I can call my best friend. I would be lost without you.

Happy Monday! xo
